Episcopal church was designed by L.A. Fort and built in 1922. The 'Rock
Church' on the corner of Central Avenue and Columbus Drive is easily
identifiable. Constructed of
rocks dredged from the nearby Hillsborough River and donated by Harry P.
Kennedy the Church has
all the features associated with the Gothic Revival, including steeply
pitched roof, a tower and crenelation as well as stained glass windows.
When the church was originally constructed it was situated in the
fashionable Tampa Heights neighborhood. |
