Tampa Heights has been chosen for a KaBOOM playground! It will be located behind the Youth and Community Center located at Palm Ave. and Lamar Ave. next to I-275. The playground will be for the entire community. Designing and planning are moving fast! The playground will be built on March 2, 2013. For more information visit: http://www.kaboom.org
Waterworks Building
The City has chosen the owner of Columbia Restaurant to develop the Waterworks Building into Ciao's which will be a seafood restaurant, chophouse and oyster bar with an outdoor cafe overlooking the river. The proposal calls for $2 million to be pumped into the waterworks building. For more information, click here.

All Tampa Heights residents are welcome to attend. General Meetings in Jan - Oct are held on the 4th Thursday of the month. In Nov & Dec the general meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month. The Board Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of the month.

Waterworks Park
The Waterworks Park is finally going to get a complete makeover. Thanks to the City of Tampa allocating $5M for the park's renovation, Waterworks is about to become of the premier parks in Tampa. Waterworks Park will become the northern terminus of the Riverwalk which also recently received funding to complete the entire stretch down to Channelside. Tampa Heights Community Garden
Yoga in the Garden takes place regularly on Sunday at 9:30am (check their facebook page for schedule) - bring your a mat, towel, blanket and some water. Yoga is to be followed by a community work day.
The community garden (located at 605 E. Frances Ave) is up and running with 25 individual plots and 2 communal plots.
New plots will be available for the spring planting so reserve yours as soon as possible because there are a limited number.
Lee's Grocery is now serving pizza and has a wide selection of craft beers so stop by at the corner of Central Ave. & E. Frances between 11:30 am and 9:00 pm which are their normal hours.
300 East just opened and they sells decor with their shop located at the corner of Columbus and Morgan.
Community Center Coming Soon
The renovation of the Tampa Heights Community Center is currently underway. Every Saturday morning, community volunteers have been chipping away from 9am - 12pm- please join if you have a chance. The Community Center will be a focus for the neighborhood - a place for gatherings, meetings, classes, or anything else we can imagine. Lumber and monetary donations are currently being accepted - go to http://www.thjca.org for more information.
