Porch Parties are First Fridays!
Porch parties are back on track.  We will be having them year round once a month on the first Friday of every month.

Next Party is Friday Sept. 5, 2008 hosted by Jon & Gail at 505 E. Park Ave.

Click here to see the porch party schedule

If you are interested in hosting a porch party Please sign up via email to Monika Schuler at remy@ij.net,  or at the next civic association meeting.

All residents of Tampa Heights are welcome to this unique on-going tradition of Tampa Heights.  Children are residents too and are most certainly welcome but please keep an eye on them at guests homes.

The host provides paper goods, sodas, ice, a covered dish and of course the porch. Guests bring a covered dish (with any serving utensils) and own alcoholic beverages.

Neighborhood Yard Sale
In October the Tampa Heights Civic Association will be sponsoring a Neighborhood wide Yard Sale. We will advertise this in the local papers and have a posting on our Web Site. What we are in need of are residents who are interested in participating. We will print up maps of all the addresses of residents who will be participating so that your address will not be missed. The more participation we have the greater your traffic to sell your yard sale items.

If you are interested, please email

We will provide more information as we get closer.
Thanks

Going Green
At our July 2007 General Meeting, Matt Piechowiak, the Northwest Representative, gave a very informative presentation about going green.  We have had many requests for the information that was provided, that we are putting the presentation online.

Click here to download the Going Green presentation.  (.pdf file)

At the last meeting, many residents said they had difficulties receiving blue recycling boxes.  Matt drove down to the Solid Waste Dept. (located on Spruce St., just East of Lois Ave. about a block west of Home Depot) and picked up 8 blue boxes, if you would like one, just email him.  Or you can Call the Solid Waste Dept at (813) 348-1111 ext 2.

Goodsearch.com
What if Tampa Heights Civic Association earned a penny every time you searched the Internet? Well, now we can!

GoodSearch.com is a new search engine that donates half its revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. You use it just as you would any search engine, and it's powered by Yahoo!, so you get great results.

Just go to www.goodsearch.com and be sure to enter Tampa Heights Civic Association as the charity you want to support. Just 500 of us searching four times a day will raise about $7300 in a year without anyone spending a dime! And, be sure to spread the word!
