The City has chosen the owner of Columbia Restaurant to develop the Waterworks Building into Ciao's which will be a seafood restaurant, chophouse and oyster bar with an outdoor cafe overlooking the river. The proposal calls for $2 million to be pumped into the waterworks building. For more information, click here.

through out the neighborhood. They will be sold at each Civic Association
Meeting. The price is $20 cash or check (checks made out to Tampa Heights
Civic Association).

left. These flags will be quite large. Look for these flags hanging proudly
on homes around Tampa Heights.

The community continues to rehab the old Baptist Church into our Youth
Development and Community Center! Every Saturday- hard at work!
Kentucky Derby Themed Porch Party on May 4th at 7:00pm
Steve Mica and Tom McPeek at 300 E. Park Ave. are holding their annual Kentucky Derby themed Porch Party on May 4th at 7:00 p.m.
Yoga in the Garden will be taking place at 9:30 am on Sunday, Feb 5th - bring your a mat, towel, blanket and some water. Yoga is to be followed by a community work day.
The community garden (located at 605 E. Frances Ave) is up and running with 25 individual plots and 2 communal plots.
New plots will be available for the spring planting so reserve yours as soon as possible because there are a limited number.
Lee's Grocery is now serving pizza and has a wide selection of craft beers so stop by at the corner of Central Ave. & E. Frances between 11:30 am and 9:00 pm which are their normal hours.
300 East just opened and they sells decor with their shop located at the corner of Columbus and Morgan.

Community Center Coming Soon
The renovation of the Tampa Heights Community Center is currently underway. Every Saturday morning, community volunteers have been chipping away from 9am - 12pm- please join if you have a chance. The Community Center will be a focus for the neighborhood - a place for gatherings, meetings, classes, or anything else we can imagine. Lumber and monetary donations are currently being accepted - go to http://www.thjca.org for more information.
Waterworks Park
The Waterworks Park has been closed for quite some time now, but with money recently allocated for improvements - changes are a coming. Over the next 6-9 months look for some of the following: expansion of the Riverwalk, lighting, permanent fencing, and the enhancement of the spring.
